Hello & Welcome!
Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I’m not a Biblical scholar, pastor, or any kind of theologian—which you'll probably figure out within 30 seconds of reading this blog.
Credentials aside, I’m a lifelong Christian. And while it’s central to who I am, I've been hesitant to share and talk about it outside of my closest circles. “Religion” is a loaded word these days. And sadly—like many faiths—it’s often misunderstood, misrepresented, and, worst of all, politicized.
So, for a long time, my faith stayed in stealth mode. Not wanting to be labeled a “Jesus freak” or “Bible beater,” I walled that part of myself off from the rest of my life: work, dating, social life, social media, etc.
Looking back, I think I believed that faith couldn’t survive out in the wild alongside my sometimes messy, unpredictable life. And while I take God very seriously, I’m often a deeply unserious person—the kind who laughs at precisely the wrong moment and says “just kidding” right after saying the exact thing I meant.
Maybe it’s age, but somewhere along the way, I’ve stopped worrying about how talking about my faith will land. Because let’s be honest—no one is lying awake at night dissecting why Cat loves Jesus. Everyone’s got their own thing to spiral over. And if I’m only living out my faith in private, I’ve definitely missed the point.
So here I am, starting a blog about God. Or, more specifically, my walk with him. One where I often stumble or fall flat on my face. I've never been good at pretending, so I keep it real—sometimes a little too real—but I'm fully convinced that if God didn’t have a sense of humor, I wouldn’t still be here.
If Holyish stands for anything, it’s this: Living a life that honors God isn’t about being perfect—it’s about embracing the perfect grace He freely gives. Because whether the sun is shining or we’re caught in a downpour, God always meets us right where we are.
Whether you’re Christian, follow another faith, are spiritually curious, or aren't sure what you believe—I’m glad you’re here. There’s room for everyone, as long as we follow the golden rule.
